The iFanboy Letter Column - 08/22/08!

On Aug 22, 2008 12:00 PM

I really liked Revelations last week even though, as many have pointed out, there were some glaring problems also. I like the Spectre though and the fact that he couldnt touch Libra was cool and interesting. I like what Rucka is doing with the character for now. I like that idea for Batman though. Morrison has said that its someone no one would expect and honestly how many people know about ...

Three Artists That Deliver

On Aug 19, 2008 12:00 PM

Great picks mike! I dont know much about Sean Phillips but Frank and Mahnke are awesome. I first read Frank's Midnight Nation and then Squadron Supreme for the Max line and they were great but his Action Comics have been above and beyond. It feels like he is more at home with this book than any in the past. Mahnke rocked on Black Adam and Requiem... Amazing. Easily the best one shot of the ...

Robert Kirkman's Editorial

On Aug 13, 2008 11:40 PM

I think Kirkman is right. And kind of to echo some comments made by Conor earlier:  A couple years ago, in the video games, 2K sports came out with 2K Football. The game was awesome and kinda shocked the video game world. Up until that point (and largely now too) Madden was the only sports game out there if you wanted to play NFL video game. The next year thier were actual improvment...

The iFanboy 2008 Summer Movie Wrap-Up

On Jul 22, 2008 9:32 AM

To me The Dark Night was easily the best.  I see the Dark Night as what we should expect from Iron Man 2. The first Batman was great and really set the grounds for a great world and TDK took off running and was amazing. Tony Stark was set up and now the next movie should blow us away.

The Whole Movie Thing Didn't Work. And I'm OK With That.

On Jul 7, 2008 11:13 PM

Great article Josh. I have to agree with most of the points you made. I havent been in comics too long ( only a couple years ) but ive learned that comics are sorely underated. And i agree with the fact that it feels great knowing a lot about something so great that hardly anyone knows about. Comic book fans are some of the most intense, dedicated and opinionated fans out there and they de...

The Thor Report

On Jul 3, 2008 12:00 PM

Great article Josh. As far as my opinion to be honest I havent yet decided about JMS. I havent been around comics for a long time and have only ever read some of his Amazing run, Midnight Nation, Supreme Squadron and Thor. I do find it rather funny that each start up has ended the same. The first several issues are full of characterization but almost entirely void of any action. Then usually ...

Our Heroes, Their Art

On Jul 2, 2008 12:00 PM

Great article. The passing of Mr. Turner was a shock but his work will speak for him for a while. To answer the question, I have always felt more of a connection to the Marvel writers morso than DC. That said I think the duo of JMS and JR JR on Amazing Spiderman is a comic that I connected with. The 9/11 issue brought more to the table than any comic for a long time. JMS has a way of bringin...
