Name: mig-l mejia

Well, my name is Mig-L, I'm from Miami, FL.. lived here all my life! Hate the unpredictable weather. Anyway, I haven't been reading comics for long, most got my fix of superheroes and the tights from saturday morning cartoons from the WB and FOXKids and whatnot. Now, I'm hooked on them and can't get enough, well, I can.. it all depends on what's in my wallet.

I'm an aspiring artist, hoping to break into the business someday, somehow. I love anything Jim Lee. Batman and The Flash are my favorite characters. My current favorite book is GL and Invincible in TP. I am enjoying All-Star Batman and Robin, because it's craziness just makes me laugh and shows are crazy Frank Miller can make people and still bring them to sanity. I also enjoy some Marvel books, such as X-men First Class, Astonishing X-men and Ultimate Spider-Man. But, I'm big on DC mostly.

Well, that's me in a nutshell I guess.. or a text box. Whatever.

This is great. It's great to know that pro's listen to the podcast as well. He was real informed with the show. Hopefully we can get a second part to this after his FF and Cap Britain stories.

Our Heroes, Their Art

On Jul 2, 2008 12:00 PM

This was great, Mike.  Being an aspiring comic artist, who by coincidence, was inspired to do comics by Michael Turner's art in Supergirl, I was sort've connected to him in a sense, I always wanted to see what he was working on or what covers he'd be doing next. I really grew fond writer-wise, of Jeph Loeb, but strictly on his DC work. He has this connection with them that I think we all...

The DC Comics Absolute Quandry - Top 5 Stories That Should Be Absolutes

On Jul 2, 2008 9:07 AM

Depending on how the series goes, I'd love to just see Final Crisis absoluted, just to have J.G Jones art in that beautiful format. Another pick, All-Star Batman and Robin, once again, strictly aimed for the art. If anybody has seen Jim Lee's stuff in the Absolute Hush, they know it's great. I wouldn't have mind seeing an Identity Crisis in absolute, but only if Michael Turner would've done the...

iFanboy Mini - Episode #42 - New Comics Preview 05/14/2008

On May 13, 2008 7:37 AM

Sweet. Kevin Maguire. Conor has gotten me hooked on him since he raved about his work on JLI. Can't wait to pick this up.  Tom Katers, just as funny on video as he is on his own show. Great stuff.

What would YOU ask Stan Lee?

On May 12, 2008 7:14 PM

Hey, Stan! The question I have is, do think artist from the silver age/golden age deal with storytelling better than today's artist, in which many cases is given the pace by the writer?

05.04.08 - 'Iron Man'

On May 4, 2008 6:25 PM

@conor, mandarin was in it? I didn't see him!? WHERE!? I guess I'm not that much of a Iron Man fan, but the movie kick ass nonetheless. And btw, I think I'm the only person in Miami, FL who loved Superman Returns. I saw 3 times in theaters. Routhe = Hell of a Superman/Clark Kent.

MAJOR SPOILERS About Comics in the Mainstream Media Today

On Apr 30, 2008 9:49 AM

I was kinda mad I read this, but yeah, like Muady said up before, I was expecting this as well. Barry Allen, I now I get to see some stories with the silver age Flash. Should be good. And the new Anti-Venom thing, pretty crazy looking. Let's hope they don't go and put it in the next film already.
