I've always loved comic books. As a kid, the stories fueld my imagination and the artwork influenced me and eventually inspired me to pursue a career in art. However, I decided to take a hiatus from them around 1994 when the entire industry just sort of took a dump. Recently though, I've rekindled my love for comic books once again, and it feels like I've reconnected with an old friend.
By the way, I also enjoy listening to the podcast. Great stuff!

On Feb 5, 2009 12:49 AMOK, you've got me convinced. I'll buy this book once again. I have to admit, I've been tempted to pick it up again in the past, but like many others, I was feeling bitter about this book. Perhaps bygones should be bygones.

On Aug 1, 2008 12:00 PMThis summer, I'm reading anything I can get my hands on by David Sedaris. His memoirs are so damn funny. It keeps me occupied when I'm not busy reading all those damn SI tie-ins.

On Jul 11, 2008 9:00 AMSaw this movie today with my daughter, and really enjoyed it. Wonderful characters and storyline too. If you liked the first film, you're sure to love this one. They sure left it open for a third film, but I can't imagine anyone but Del Toro or Pearlman being involved.

On Jun 25, 2008 12:00 PMWhen I was younger, I loved Iron Man. Like Bruce Wayne, he was wealthy and relied on his intellect to give him the upper hand. No mutant powers or accidental encounters with radiated spiders. With his suit, he was one of the most powerful super heros around. Yet, unlike Bruce Wayne, his heart condition weakened him physically and he was also an alcholic. This resulted in a very complex and int...

On May 23, 2008 1:24 AMI'd like to echo target242 's sentiment; comic books are a form of escapism. Sure, women's breasts might defy gravity and certain laws of physics in comics, but so do most other things as well. I think you have to be careful when you start toning down comics, becuse eventually, they won't be comics any more. There is a reason they are called "Super-heroes" and "Super-villia...

On May 22, 2008 12:44 AMAbsolutely! I remember seeing the original Raiders of the Lost Ark like six times in the theatre when I was a kid. Back then, a movie that big would run at the theatre for months. It was special.I can't wait to take my 10 yr old daughter to see the new film, and see it through her eyes. I haven't picked up this book yet for two reasons: 1) I'd be too tempted to look at it before seeing the mo...

On May 14, 2008 4:13 PMI've always been intrigued by Captain Britain. I remember first stumbling across him when I picked up Excalibur over 20 years ago. So when I saw this title, I immediately snagged it. It also makes me feel less like a sucker for buying into all the SI tie-ins too.
