Name: Matthew Kaczynski
I've been reading since I was 12, started with Spawn when I traded some X-men cards for a stack of comics. I would consider myself a Marvel guy, but I love to dip into mature books and am a big fan of the recent push towards pulp crime stories. Current and long time favorites include Daredevil, Amazing Spiderman, any Brubaker, any Joe Kelly, Punisher, Ex Machina / Y the Last Man, and Jonah Hex.
Professionally, I'm training to be a Marine jet pilot in Kingsville, TX. I'm originally from Michigan and went to school at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!

Guardians of the Globe adds... Spawn?
On Mar 16, 2010 5:04 PMI kinda like the boot and Spawn's costume. It's the best of one to come out of the 90s. Runner up: Daredevil's armor... but would have looked better with a bucket boot...

On Feb 18, 2010 9:00 AMI think Maleev either did the cover in oils or used the "oil brush" in illustrator. Working wet in oils (vice layering or drybrushing) will give that matte/blended look. Plus oils can be very vibrant when used raw. My favorite was Daredevil. Classic!

On Feb 1, 2010 11:30 AMThere was an article on ifanboy a few months back that mentioned donating comics to send overseas to the troops. I think that's a great idea to promote comics, a good cause, and is also a tax write-off. A lot of the books I want to get rid of are for adults, so donating to schools might not go over well.

On Jan 11, 2010 6:21 PMI don't know why movie makers feel they have to rewrite the comic books to make a good movie. The stories are classic for a reason. Stick to the comic book storyline!!!!

On Jan 7, 2010 8:45 AMSeriously, no Daredevil? I don't think I've read a bad issue of DD in the last 10 years with two of the most memorable runs I've ever read in comics (Bendis/Maleev & Brubaker/Lark).
