Marvel Goes Digital And Mobile

On Oct 30, 2009 4:15 PM

I do love the idea of digital comics. They're convenient, they don't clog up my already crammed room. But two things bother me with this offering: 1. $1.99? Really, Marvel? 2. only in the US?! That's downright ridiculous. There's just no reason to restrict the access like that. 3. no current issues? Yeah, that's great, too. Because I couldn't go out and buy the trade for the stuff that's a...

Can I Afford Comics?

On Oct 14, 2009 12:00 PM

I've been asking myself this question so many times the last few weeks. Money is dire, and trades would be cheaper. But being part of the discussion (especially at my store) is also important to me. So I guess I'll have to endure the single issue route for a little while more, until Apple releases their tablet and we all life in a happy digital world.  For three series I'd have to buy ...

Grant Morrison Talks 'Batman + Robin'

On Mar 20, 2009 2:37 PM

I love the pitch: "Lynch does the 60s show". I love the fact that Frank Quietly is drawing (at least some of it). I love Grant Morrison going wild with the Bat-universe. This seems to be the book of the year for me, I'm even more excited for this than for Blackest Night.  And David Lynch SHOULD do a Batman show. Just saying...

Still Reading, After All This Time

On Feb 11, 2009 9:00 AM

Great article. My parents were never into reading anything at all , so I had to get my fix on my own. I don't know why and how, but I got addicted, and still am today. But to be hones, I'm mostly alone in my social circle. They all have their great education and their "ideas" about life and how everything goes to hell, and yet they cannot be convinced to pick up a book or let alone ...

The Decline and Fall of the American Superhero?

On Jan 12, 2009 4:23 AM

Than you Paul, I couldn't have said it better. For me, someone who doesn't life in the US, but very much feels American, that's exactly the kind of attidute I admire so much. There is room for more than one interpretation of the superhero (or anything else for that matter) and it would be crippling to just showcase one side of the whole spectrum. I do believe that Mr. Willingham, much like M...

Geoff Johns to Leave Justice Society of America with Issue #26

On Dec 9, 2008 9:28 PM

Horrible news indeed. JSA was constantly in my top three books since I came back reading comics and now it's practically gone. I don't know if anyone can fill the shoes, but i'll definetly check out the first issue of the new creative team. It would be so sad to not have an A-List team-book in the DCU, what with the crappy quality of that JLA and all. But at least we get the Blackest Night, ...
