New Comics for 11/19/08 thought that Thanksgiving was this week. Whoops.

On Nov 17, 2008 5:15 PM

Mark Waid and Marcos Martin on Spider-Man!  Dodson finally replacing Land on Uncanny!  I only have five books this week, but they all look good.  BQ: 20

Comic Books Prices: How Much is Too Much?

On Nov 13, 2008 9:00 AM

Comics were $1.25 when I first started buying them, they went to $1.50 pretty soon.  Then they were breifly $1.75 before going to $1.99.  The stayed at that price for a long time, then went to $2.50 and then $2.99. I understand that the prices are going to go up, but a full one dollar jump seems harsh.  I'm ready for digital, though, not only for a decrease in price, but also t...

New Comics for 10/29/08 have no costume ideas

On Oct 27, 2008 5:15 PM

I'm very excited for the new Hammerhead arc on Amazing Spider-Man and for this Jackpot stuff to hopefully finally pay off in the Annual.  I'm also excited for the second issue of Kick Drum Comix. But most of all, I am excited for… Spawn.  I haven't bought it in right around 100 issues,  but I can't wait for McFarlane's return and Portacio's art looks great in the preview...

New Comics for 10/15/08 are having Halloween costume anxiety

On Oct 13, 2008 5:05 PM

Man, three weeks without Spider-Man seems like forever now that I'm used to the thrice monthly schedule.  BQ: I need more information.  I'd probably say yes and then back out at the last minute, though.

New Comics for 10/08/08 have a sore throat and stuffy nose

On Oct 6, 2008 5:10 PM

Only three comics this week.  I'm just waiting for that week of like 15 books, after the last couple slow weeks, I know it's coming. I'll probably pick up the new Serenity trade since that's all I have.  I'll be ordering Hellboy Library Edition vol 2 at some point in the near future, too.

American Flagg: The Definitive Collection Volume 1

On Oct 5, 2008 7:43 PM

I've been wanting to check this out.  The tiny comic shop by my house had it on the shelf the last time I was there, which was surprising because they normally don't carry any hardcovers.  The owner said someone ordered it ages ago but with all the setbacks before it's release, by the time it came out, he didn't want it.  He said he'd give me "a good deal" on it. ...

New comics for 09/17/08 are looking for love in all the wrong places

On Sep 15, 2008 5:50 PM

We've gotten five issues of John Romita Jr. artwork this month.  That is insane and absolutely awesome.  I'm looking forward to Echo, too.  This issue of Uncanny is still Land art, isn't it?  I've been enjoying it, but I can't wait for Dodson's issues to start.

Same $#*^, Brand New Day

On Sep 15, 2008 11:45 AM

I was going to leave a comment about liking the article, but after reading the other comments, I don't really remember the article. I will say that people underestemate kids, though.  There has been nothing in Spider-Man since BND started that I would hesitate to give to my potential future ten year old kid.  I was reading Spawn when I was ten… that book had a lot more of the...

4 Comic Book Writers

On Sep 10, 2008 11:44 AM

I still think Origin was a really good story and if it had been an "Elseworlds" type of thing, I think it would be highly regarded.  What you say is true, though, the origin of Wolverine should not be told.  Civil War: Frontline was really good for just over half the series, too.  It completely fell apart at the end, of course, but goes for most things associated with...
