Name: Jeff Sandquist

I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and chiropractic student born, raised and schooled in Minnesota. I enjoy comic books of all kinds, action figures, cartoons (especially 80s) and movies (especially horror and Kevin Smith flicks). It was Wolverine, the 90s X-Men cartoon and Marvel trading cards that got me into comics. My favorite creator/writer/artist is Sam Kieth. I especially love his Wolverine and The Maxx. I used to only read Marvel and Image but in the past few years I have opened up to all publishers. Recently I have been catching up on the classics such as Kingdom Come and just about anything Alan Moore or Frank Miller have done. I have also been enjoying the new classics such as Y the Last Man and Fables. I am open reading new books and thanks to iFanboy I have been introduced to great books like Scalped.

New Comics for 07/30/08 Are Sore From San Diego!

On Jul 28, 2008 5:22 PM

Just Black Panther #39 (for my Jason Aaron fix) and Wolverine #67 (for my Mark Millar fix). Finally a break for my wallet and time to catch up on my ever growing stack. BQ: Kevin Smith is writing a 3 issue mini-series from DC staring Onomatopoeia (a character he created while writing Green Arrow) with his friend Walter "fanboy" Flanagan on art. And for all you haters out there, the ...

A Look Back at 'Batman Begins'

On Jul 16, 2008 9:00 AM

#5 the new Batmobile. Practical and more realistic but just didn't like the look of it compared to the classic.

Thanks s1lentslayer!!! Ever since checking my pull list here on iFanboy I forgot about checking Diamond. Very excited about Jason Aaron writing Joker's Asylum The Penguin, Sale and Loeb's Captain America White #0 and All Hail Megatron #1. Monday got just a little bit better, too bad I have to wait until Thursday to read 'em. Still trying to decide about Detective Comics #846 (at least that part...

The iFanboy Letter Column - 07/04/08!

On Jul 4, 2008 9:00 AM

How has the 90s X-Men cartoon not been put out on DVD as seasons? I just figured with the success of the X-Men movies (and other comic book flicks), new X-Men cartoons (and other comic book cartoons) that it would have been available by now. I have a bunch of episodes on VHS but I would love to add this series to my DVD collection. I'm guessing it has something to do with the rights (that...

iFanboy Mini - Episode #78 - Madman Atomic Comics #9

On Jul 2, 2008 7:42 AM

I picked up the volumes 1 and 2 of the original Madman series based on all the good things I've heard about it over the years but other than the beautiful art the stories just weren't for me.  However, I dug the few issues that featured Frank Miller's Big Guy (I wish Darrow and Miller would revisit the Big Guy and Rusty). To me Madman is like a handful of indie characters (i.e. Scud, Tan...

Ten Things I Love About Comics (The Negativity Free Article)

On Jul 1, 2008 9:00 AM

I love...pull list Mondays...new comics Wednesdays...my ever growing stack and every shrinking bank account...everything about iFanboy (even the bitching sometimes as long as it is minimal and backed-up with good reason).

Most excited (and sad) about the last issue of G.I. Joe. This WWIII arc has been amazing (if nothing else pick it up in trade). Also excited about Billy Batson, Batman RIP and Astonishing X-Men. Also picking up Tales of TMNT out of habit. BQ: Pull list!!!

When "Small Press" is Your Laser Printer

On Jun 30, 2008 11:45 AM

I don't know if my LCS has a section like this (if so I have never seen it even though I have been going their for about 10 years) but I will be asking about it when I go this week.  I'm thinking they don't though, it's more of a DC and Marvel shop but they still order a bit of everything and anything else that I want. I too really dug the Robotic Fish Tale. Interesting opening and creat...
