Stop Waiting and Just Read the Book!

On Aug 4, 2009 11:23 AM

I think for myself (and maybe some others) is that there is more to a comic than just a story. I love Morrison but I also love Quietly and if I have to wait a little while to get the best possible presentation of his art, I am waiting. I know the hardcovers are out there, but if I could see his work oversized on the best paper with a whole mess of sketches and extras in the back, that is worth...

07.08.2009 - Wednesday Comics #1

On Jul 9, 2009 2:01 AM

This was my pick. It is rare to see a company take a gamble on something like this. I mean the format alone makes it far from a sure thing. But when I opened it up and saw that huge page of art I was captivated. I read the whole thing twice and then some individual sections 3 or 4 times. The whole time I was think man these creators love comics. It just came across to me on each page and in eac...

This is my pick as well. The art alone brings it in first. I knew it would be good, but this was something else. 06.03.2009 - Batman and Robin #1

On Jun 3, 2009 9:31 PM

This book was my pick of the week for sure. The art was incredible, the loose feel to the lines and the typography drawn into the panels really fealt right for this story. The opening scene with the flying Batmobile was awesome. It was the little scenes that won me over though. The way Dick acted toward Alfred, commenting on his cooking and actually eating the food he made. The way he seemed t...

02.26.2009 - Savage Dragon #145

On Feb 26, 2009 3:01 AM

I am a long time fan of this title too. I have every single issue of the book. I have never missed one. It is rare to get to see this kind of development of a creators art and story telling. I still look forward to the book every month and I think getting the Dragon on schedule publishing wise and back in blue story wise is another sign of the renaissance going on in the image universe. Great p...
