Name: Kristen Johnson
After being a massive Marvel junky back in the early '90s (around the Claremont X-Men era and the launch of the first animated series), I lost my interest around the time hormones kicked in and music and ladies took my money.
The last few years I've flirted with my local comic store, buying an issue or two every few months. Usually something based on a license. But about 4 months ago I caught iFanboy on Revision3 and am now well and truly back in the swing of things buying 7-10 issues per week, but, I'm still trying to find my footing...

On Nov 12, 2008 12:00 PMYou think you guys have it bad? I'm in Australia and the cover price, apart from being in a different currency, is just the base price. There's importing fees on top of that. A $3.99 book for me is $7.50AUD. This week (which happens to be a bad ASS week for me) is going to cost me about $60AUD. Not to mention bags ($12.50) and boards ($30). Now that the regular p...

On Sep 4, 2008 12:00 PMI love love bagging and boarding my books. It's cathartic. Yeah my back is a little sore after hunching down for hours but going over all my books is a lot of fun, and my OCD is satisfied after seeing a nice pile of plastic, good looking neat books. I bag EVERYTHING. I recently went through all my collection and B&B'd them. Including the 2 issues of "Learn to draw R...

On Aug 20, 2008 10:52 AMThese articles are awesome, I love this sappy shit! I agree about the TMNT thing. I went through the same thing and also held this smug sense of superiority with those who weren't as 'indie-cool' and asked "why are they all Raphael?" Like you said... things haven't changed much.
