'Planet Hulk' Hits on DVD February 2, 2010
On Oct 9, 2009 7:10 PM@Conor - The desciption "intergalactic gladiator Hulk" isn't really fair. It starts of with some gladiator battles, but it's really a story of revolution, not arena fights. And yes, it's on another planet, but that actually frees it to tell a story without being tied down by continuity.

On Oct 7, 2009 9:00 AMAs I prepare to move and am staging my house for sale, I wish to God that all of my books (comics, prose and otherwise) were digital. The older I get, the less I care about things. When I was a younger, it was important for me to surround myself with possessions. Now... not so much. As to the social aspect of purchasing comics at the comic store - that's one exp...
Go to CommentI Hate the Term "Comic Book Movie"
On Sep 15, 2009 8:00 AMI don't think it's too different from any other adapted work. Whether you're making a movie based on a comic, television show, video game or other property, I think that the skeptecism is inherent. Even with prose books, which Hollywood has the most experience adapting, they produce more stinkers from masterpieces than actually make it work. Those other media are diverse, too...

On Sep 11, 2009 3:00 AMToo bad. I was really never convinced that the art style that made the book so striking would translate well to the big screen, though.

On Aug 31, 2009 11:30 AMA trade paperback is, in fact, a term that existed prior to comic book collections and is still used to day for a variety of prose books. Paperback books come in two basic categories. Mass market, which are the smaller, cheaper versions and trade paperbacks, which is pretty much everything else. While it has a specific meaning when people talk about comics, it shouldn't be fo...

On Aug 20, 2009 8:37 AMBecause you like those things, I have to assume that you hate First Second, which is probably my favorite relatively new publisher. With great books like American Born Chinese, The Professor's Daughter, The Black Diamond Detective Agency and many more, why do you hate them so much, Josh?

On Aug 17, 2009 11:30 AM@ lukehopkins - To be fair, just saying that Detective is "groundbreaking" without explaining way isn't much an argument, either.

On Jul 22, 2009 1:23 PMI don't really understand why Land is on there. Regardless of whether you like his art or not (and many people do) I just can't imagine anybody saying, "I want to draw like Greg Land" or "I draw a lot of influence from Greg Land." I was a little surpirsed that Steranko didn't make the list.

On Jul 17, 2009 1:00 PMThere don't seem to be many sidekicks in the Marvel Universe, either. Not that sidekicks are inherent to a legacy, but they probably help.
