The Dark Knight vs. The Academy
On Jan 23, 2009 1:06 PMSlumdog Millionaire was a fanastiscally loveable film, but the critical dialogue surrounding it is obscene. I don't put too much stock into the Oscars, so that's all I wanted to.

On Jan 22, 2009 9:00 AMI think when he's come face to face with Evil Incarnate and no amount of non-lethal techiniques would be even remotely effective, I think Batman is allowed. :)

On Nov 18, 2008 10:44 AMThere's a line of Didio's that I think a lot of people are missing: "So this is a lot of fun for us. I think that’s going to get people excited and scratching their heads and wondering what’s going on " In other words, Superman's absence is supposed to be a conscious concern . Right now, it doesn't sound like they're pulling Superman out of Action Comics in order to ...

On Nov 13, 2008 11:10 PMMan, Muse doesn't offend me or anything, but whenever I hear them all I can think is I'm listening to "radiohead-lite". :-p So, aside from that. The trailer still has me remaining skeptical. The fact that these trailers are so flashy and in in your face doesn't bode well for the the kind of perspective Zack Snyder took when approaching this film.

On Oct 18, 2008 5:07 PMI respectfully disgree with abandoning Rasl in its single issue form. As comic readers, we seem to have arbitrary expectations ingrained into ourselves simply by virute of the vestigal practices of publishing comics from the the precious metal Ages of comics. I see a lot of people in the Rasl comments section frustrated with the long waits and similarly givining it up in favor of the trade. But...

On Sep 1, 2008 10:42 AM@patio Did you know Ulysses was , in fact, published, successfully so if you get around censorship debacles, serially to begin with. . .just like a comic book? ;-) I don't mean to say you said so (I'm not tryin to put words in your mouth by any means), but its a generally criticism I see: that Morrison's technique that he's been utlizing for the past couple years isn't suited for s...

On Aug 6, 2008 9:10 PMSpeaking of Talky Tawny: Didn't we seem him hooked up to tubes in the flesh factory or whatever in the last issue? Or was that just some random tiger?

On Jul 18, 2008 3:00 AM@Jimski That bit about the climax of the movie was EXACTLY my take on it. After what seems like the climax, it just keeps building and continues to impress. Astounding.

On Jun 22, 2008 12:23 PMI kind of want to stay away from the word "art", since the concept is so loaded. . . But as far as relevent, thoughful, literature in mainstream comics goes, I think it is pretty unfair to suggest that the idea is a "distant afterthought" so much as it may even not be a thought at all. The system within DC/Marvel, with its editors deadlines, idea monkeys, and arbitrary col...
