Don't Miss: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #3
On Oct 27, 2008 9:22 AMI dunno...the art is technically well done, but I don't see anything stand-out about it. Pretty much jest generic manga-esque art. The fact that his Peter and MJ look about 12 years old might make a sex issue a little creepy.

On Oct 23, 2008 9:00 AMIron was great, holding up to multiple views extremly well. I used to be a big multiple view in the theater type guy, but I think until Iron Man the last movie I had bothered to see more than once was Revenge of the Sith three years ago. I saw Iron Man five times this summer. Iron Man was easily the best comic book movie of the summer and, for me, probably steals the number two best c...
Go to CommentDon't like "filler"? Then you probably don't like comics
On Oct 8, 2008 9:00 AMI think the shift to arc based, written to be trade-paperbacked, storylines has contributed much to what people think of as filler. Once upon a time a one issue story was just that: a one issue story in a series of variable length tales. Now days everything is 4 issue this and 6 issue that. And they've all got umbrella titles that cover the whole arc. Anything that doesn't fit neatly into that...

On Oct 1, 2008 7:00 PMZatanna might be a character they could hang a series around herself. She has powers but they're ill enough defined that they can have her at whatever level they need to for story/budget reasons. Make her young and keep her father around as a mentor figure teaching her real and stage magic. The show would be about her coming into her own, both as a person and a powerful magician. &n...

On Sep 8, 2008 11:08 AMI have no more sacred cows. There's not a single "beloved" writer that hasn't made at least one horrible misstep. I used to really like Warren Ellis. This was before everyone else discovered him. Back when he was writing HELLSTORM and THE STARJAMMERS. The early days of TRANSMETROPOLITAN. These days I usually assume that anything he writes in the mainstream superhero ge...

On Jul 24, 2008 10:24 PMI really liked it Both funny and tugging-at-the-heartstrings-y. I wasn't prepared for the ending but in retrospect I should have been. It was very Joss Whedonish. As for a continuation I vote nay. The story is over. There's something to be said for getting to the point and getting out. Especially in today's world of trilogies, franchises, and sequels. What I really like...

On May 29, 2008 7:28 PMMy only regret is that Whedon won't be around to write Kitty's eventual return and reunion with Peter. Oh, and also, after reading this issue, that Whedon never got to write Spider-Man. My only two regrets. And also that instead of just ending the series (which was really just a vanity project for Whedon and Cassiday) their continuing it with Warren "I hate supe...

On May 29, 2008 1:20 PMYeah...not such a great start. Doesn't seem like anybody told Morrison about the events of DEATH OF THE NEW GODS or COUNTDOWN. And where were these high priority "Deicide" rules for the GL Core when Lightray and Barada were killed on Earth? And why would Superman descibe the New Gods in terms of the Guardian records? Three of them are members of the freaking J...

On May 9, 2008 7:26 PMWow. An actual good episode if nuBSG? I had begin to give up hope. This was like way back bofore the midseason break in Season 3. Characterization. Plot movement. I liked pretty much the whole thing. But I think Cottle's slipping some crazy juice into Roslin's meds. Next thing she'll be hanging out in Baltar's haram.
