I'm a teen librarian in Ohio. One of my many responsibilities is to pick out graphic novels that should be purchased for all of the branches in the system. It’s fun to look at the list of graphic novels being published and figuring out which ones will circ well and which ones we should only get a few copies of.This can lead to knowing more about manga than I would like, but that’s okay. Sadly, as I work in a library, I usually only get to read graphic novels several weeks after they’ve been released.

Great Moments in Comics History: Alias #1
On Nov 20, 2009 9:00 AM@siraim I thought the same thing for about a year after I'd heard anyone mention the series. Then, I checked it out at my library and found it had nothing to do with that. Just a great stand-alone series.

On Nov 19, 2009 3:06 AMYou know, I was thinking about commenting on this, but it looks like TimmyWood said everything I was going to say. Except that last sentence. ADVENTURE COMICS was my pick.

On Nov 16, 2009 12:39 PMMAD MEN allowed me the ability to feel love for the first time. Seriously though, I just saw the first season with my wife and we both really enjoyed it. Will you love it when you see it? I dunno. Do I recommend you check it out so you can decide for yourself? Sure. This is exactly why I dig this website so much. Everyone has their own thing they really dig...

On Nov 14, 2009 7:39 PMI was absolutely in love with BATGIRL this month. The first three issues had a few problems for me, but I'm glad I stuck with it for this issue. It easily outshone the stuff happening in the main Bat-books this week. Clean art, solid character beats, good stand-alone story, and a nice reveal of the new Batgirl costume made me a fan of this one. Didn't quite get the...

On Nov 10, 2009 9:35 PM@Paul - I dunno. I think the R is implied. A dude does take a header into a car from about 40 stories up. Doesn't really say 'family film' to me. Having never read the comics, I have nothing to compare this to. It seems... okay. Maybe like a harder version of MYSTERY MEN. I'll wait until the full trailer before I can make a more informed opinion.

On Nov 9, 2009 12:40 PMI somehow found BLOOM COUNTY when I was in late elementary school and into middle school. Mind you, this was after BLOOM COUNTY had finished up its run, so if you thought that references to Caspar Weinberger were weird when you were 8 and he was the Secretary of Defense, try reading these strips while 8 years old after he'd stopped being the Secretary years earlier. Made ...
