Comic Sales: Nobody Knows Anything

@ stuclach: I like the way you think. Distribution is definitely a major factor, arguably the most important. Not only is it interesting to look at Diamond, but just look at some of the hurdles some retailers are facing. LCSs are competing with amazon.com, digital comics, and large franchised bookstores. When faced with choosing between ordering a solid performer like Batman and a new unk...

iFanboy Schedule Update!

On Jul 1, 2008 1:02 AM

So happy to hear about the return to the previous release schedule! Maybe it was just the right frequency, maybe there's an underwhelming void on Wednesdays, but I remember being absolutely addicted to iFanboy.com when the two big shows came out on Wednesday and Saturday. Great news!

iFanboy - Episode #76: WANTED

The loom was unfortunate. Seems to be a running theme in the director's films. "Day Watch" centered around a "chalk of fate," which altered reality... ummm, so... yeah.

It's nice to see Marcos getting the attention he deserves. Not sure what you think about Scott Beatty (I like his stuff), but Marcos Martin had a great run on Batgirl Year One, which I recommend. Other works by Marcos: BKV's Dr. Strange Blood Oath Bob Harras' Breach (a Captain Atom redux) He's also cooperated with Pulido on some issues of 'Robin: Year One', he did artw...

iFanboy - Episode #69: Classic Marvel Vault

On May 10, 2008 9:21 PM

If you like Jim Starlin, there was a book that came out just before the Infinity Gauntlet centered around the acquisition of the gems called THE THANOS QUEST. It was a 2-part prestige format mini that blew me away when I first picked it up. I highly recommend it. It was the first time I read a book where the protagonist was a major villain. Thanos' battle with the Champion was priceless.
