Ten Implausible Things About Already Implausible Concepts

On Nov 19, 2009 9:00 AM

Great article and responses - fandom is a wonderful thing. re:  Sunglasses at night. True story - When I was 15 or so, a few friends and I were just walking home from somewhere at about 10 p.m. One of us - Keith - was wearing sunglasses. Someone else asked him why he was wearing sunglasses when it was dark. Keith's exact quote: "When you're cool, the sun shines on you 24 hours a day...

Kick-Ass Teaser Trailer

On Nov 10, 2009 9:35 PM

@Stepho - no - the last issue hasn't come out yet.  For what it's worth, I think the trailer is playing up more of the (extremely) dark humor of the series by contrasting it with the up-beat, 'family' film feel. This teaser seems to be aimed more at the people who already know what Kick-Ass is - just about every scene in the trailer was something featured in the comic, something the rea...

New Comics for 11/11/09 likes coffee and cherry pie

On Nov 9, 2009 2:13 PM

Nice managable week with some very high potential - Aaron and Dillon on Punisher, Deadpool in Amazing Spider-man, really nice Batman week, Comic Book Comics (a comic that amuses me to no end with every issue), Walking Dead (ALWAYS an awesome read), GLC, Echo, Fables - some really quality books this week. May or may not drop Doctor Who and Locke and Key - the former because I'm just not diggi...

Great Moments in Comics History: Avengers #8

On Nov 6, 2009 9:00 AM

That's one hell of an apartment layout Kang's looking at. I see a round table, a long bathtub, two sets of stairs, a couple doors, and something that may or may not be a lamp. Nice to see fully furnished pads in the future don't change too much.

iFanbase Halloween 2009 Pictures Are HERE!

Awesome, everyone. I like all the Scott Pilgrim costumes, and the freakin' movie isn't even out yet. I always imagined that's how Conor's hair would look if he grew it in. @Ron -  Wow. Just wow - probably the most obscure costume I've seen like, ever. Good job. Again, great jobs all around.

$10 Modern Masters Sale at TwoMorrows

On Nov 4, 2009 12:00 PM

I picked up the Maguire book over the summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, if you hunt around a little on their site, they have downloadable samples of all their mags. I lost an hour of work to the Kirby sample issue last night. While you're there, I highly, highly recommend the Image and Flash books - they're full price, but more than worth it. Some really quality stuff coming from thes...

New Comics for 11/04/09 still don't know what time it is

A welcomed small week this week - the last two have just been killer. Most looking forward to TWO issues of The Boys (MM origin story so far is best of the series), Reborn, the Spider-Man books, Cinderella mini, Aaron's AMAZING Ghost Riders mini, Stumptown, Sweet Tooth, Haunt (I liked the first issue), end of the Six-Gun War in Jonah Hex, Strange Tales, and the Lobo two-parter for Sam Keith go...
