X-Men Meet The O.C.? Sign Me Up!

On Nov 20, 2008 10:54 AM

I only ever saw half of the first episode of The OC, but I did give them credit for mentioning The Cramps and Stiff Little Fingers.

November Grab Bag!

On Nov 19, 2008 12:00 PM

I sorta have a problem with a little kid stealing a car in a world where there are totally sweet hoverbikes.  If he's got the moxie to steal some ridiculous antique and drive it off a cliff, he's got the moxie to steal a hoverbike.   Also, why are highway hoverbike cops all dressed like darth vader? I'll pass on this one.

11.16.2008 - Episode #159: Detective Comics #850

On Nov 16, 2008 6:28 PM

Hellen Killer is sweet.  Sadly, this past joker arc on Batman Confidential is not. Where as Judd Winnick seemed to fall apart when he went away from his strengths (Barry Ween, for example), Kreigsberg (sp?) seems more at home in the dark, action packed weird.   Here's hoping he plays to his strengths with GA/BC.     Also- a man sold his soul for your music this week...

200 Words with Paul Dini #36 - It's Not Too Late!

On Nov 13, 2008 4:00 PM

Zing duster kids!  If you'd written this when I was in junior high or high school, that comment coming out of one of the genuises behind Batman: The Animated Series would have sent more than a few people I knew up a stool with some rope.  Not going to lie, that scenario appeals to me.

Talksplode #5 with Brian Wood of DMZ, Northlanders, Local, and New York Four

On Nov 13, 2008 12:24 PM

I've just started reading DMZ in trades and I've only picked up the first three.  Can anyone tell me if I'll hear something I wouldn't want to, yet?

So You Want to Write Comics: Influences

On Nov 11, 2008 9:00 AM

Josh, go pick up Raymond Carver's Cathedral if you've never read it.  I feel like he's a weird missing link in American literature (between the Raymond Chandlers and Mickey Spillanes and Aaron Sorkins/David Mamets).   Jimski too, for that matter.   I'll be stunned if you guys don't like him.   Great article.

I read WWH the exact same way, and I got the same looks.  Let's ride bikes!

11.02.2008 - Episode #157: Battlefields: The Night Witches #1

On Nov 2, 2008 4:03 PM

When Christian Bale eventually eats it and they stick him in the "Who's Laughing Now, Dead Guys?" Oscar montage, they use a clip from Reign of Fire.   Or him flexing in the mirror..."behind" the hooker in American Psycho.

10.26.2008 - Episode #156: Superman: New Krypton Special #1

@DaveCarr The word from DC a bit back was that DCU books are all currently taking place before Final Crisis and that after it's done everything will catch up almost like OYL.
