Great post, Ron. I'm looking foward to reviewing Comic Book Tattoo for Billboard within the next couple of weeks, because it will be a chance to point out the project is a great example for BOTH industries in terms of an artist taking her creative output by the reins.

Can't really explain how excited I am for FC: Revelations, chances of it living up are low but I remain optimistic. Swimming is always my favorite because I was a swimmer growing up, which also makes it my least favorite because I have flashback anxiety attacks.

I think the Secret Invasion inertia boils down to Bendis feeling *very* proud of himself for having laid all the secret groundwork for three years, and now he is extremely excited about and caught up in unpeeling the layers. Most excited about Huntress, me thinks, with JSA in close second. And, uh, Skrulls vs. Power Pack? Sure, why not. And Popgun, but I have to finish reading Vol. 1 first. As for SD news, definitely intrigued by Gaiman on Batman, and stoked about the Milestone characters and the Zatanna series. DC certainly had more going on with the announcements.

In terms of romantic relationships, I think I agree with Talia, love Zatanna the best in principle, and I did like the pseudo-pairing with Wonder Woman in the JLU cartoon but not so much in the comics. But in terms of life partner, there through thick and thin, loves you warts and all? Alfred. And I'm not saying that in the "Batman-is-gay" way, or even in the Alfred-as-father-figure...

Reed effing Richards. Seriously, I'd love to see how the FF, not to mention the rest of the MU (and its writers) who go to him when they have no other ideas, would soldier on after his demise. Also, he's such a tool. I know he's currently stretched out in a million pieces in Secret Invasion, but obviously he'll make it out fine, boo.

We were also discussing on our show the remarkable intertia of Secret Invasion, and decided that "the Skrulls have been hiding in society for a while, and now they're invading" is a complete synopsis so far, halfway through. If that holds for the next four books as well, oy.

As Ron (I think) said, it would have been retarded and gimmicky in general--but has more weight and justification in this movie, in which a key plot point involved a set of twins who share a mental and physical link.
