Punisher Frank Castle Max #73

Do you like grindhouse movies?  Do you like pulp fiction?  If yes, check this book (arc) out; if not, then steer clear.  The story is not terribly original and this is by no means an "epic" book.  However, it is a fun, quick read ... and what's wrong with a little bit of occasional brain candy?  It's kind of like that late, late night B-movie that hooks you at 3am (a guilty pleasure that you know is not great, but you still feel compelled to keep watching).  Art on the book is very simple (clean lines) but good.  The cartooney look of the art helps to slightly dull the edge off some of the more harsh, violent scenes that take place.

If I have a con to the book, it's that 3 issues into this arc I feel like it could have all been condensed into just one issue.  I've come to accept the $3.99 price point on books.  But in this case, I feel like I should be out $4 instead of $12.  Still I'd recommend checking this book out if you're looking for a light, pulpy book that's a quick read (unlike most books today that contain 900 captions).  I've enjoyed it thus far (hence the 4 rating).
