Walking Dead #48

story ROBERT KIRKMAN
art & cover CHARLIE ADLARD & CLIFF RATHBURN

Size: 32 Pages

Price: $2.99

I have been reading the Walking Dead since the first trade and caught up shortly after on single issues. It was a great mix of horror/comedy/drama, but with a genuine human quality. It had some slow arcs here and there but the past arc has been intense. Writer Robert Kirkman has always wanted to give the sense that no one was safe in this story, that anyone can be hurt or killed. This issue gave me a gut punch that I’m still feeling two days after reading it. While Secret Invasion had fun moments the reader knows they will make it out fine, but when something horrific happens in this book, its almost heart breaking. So if you stopped reading the Walking Dead, get caught up, or if you never read walking dead pick up the first volume in trade or hardcover. It is really something special, when it wants to be.
