One-shots are awesome. When they're like this one, they're just the right thing to cheer up a crappy day.

First off, the title's great. The only thing is that I thought it might just be a spoof of Batman, using Spidey. But I feel this expectation made me enjoy it all the more. I'm glad to say it is a very original story.

The cover is fucking genius. It's a real classic Spidey cover. It sums up the issue, actually. A classic Spiderman story.

The art in this was really good. The facial expressions were excellent almost all the way through. Just a couple of panels I thought were a bit stiff, but all round it was very good. I'm not that familiar with Kevin Maguire [except Ron and Conor like him], but his art reminded me alot of JG Jones. The character designs were awesome. Fumes was probably my favourite. He's like a fusion of Seaguy and Rocket Racer.

The first thing that jumped out to me was how well crafted the story was. The book was plotted to perfection, and really would give any Amazing Spidey writer a run for there money.

The book was really funny, but not in the way I was expecting. It was more funny situations than the witty dialogue you would expect from proffesional comedians.

The dialogue held up well. It was realistic, and there were some really clever and smart things said. Things that make you say: "Huh...o ye, I never thought of that."

At first I wasn't sure about the normal characters introduced in the story, and was kind of wishing there was more Spidey. But by the end I completely came around to them.

I liked how they didn't just do a Green Goblin story, and instead they used original characters. Looking back, the fact that it wasn't as much of a Spidey-central story, really helped it hit home at the end, when they brought him in to round off the issue real quick.

So over all, it was a very good issue.

P.S. There's some nice art extras at the back, but I'm not sure what the point of them was. Cool picture of Norman Osborne, and an awesome page with Wolverine and Spiderman. Shows good character.

P.P.S. Xavier died again?
