Action Comics #876

Greg Rucka on Action Comics, with Superman nowhere to be found.  It sounded like a potential recipe for disaster going in, but after two issues I’m pretty impressed.  The art’s been really solid, and Greg Rucka’s ability to deliver fully-realized characters in a few pages is amazing.  Last issue had a lot going on (in terms of plot development), and this issue felt “thin” by comparison (it was almost exclusively a single fight scene in the Fortress of Solitude), but it was still a great read and I’m sure the next issue will be somewhere at or near the top of my stack when I bring it home.  I’ve been very impressed with the entire Superman line since the start of the New Krypton arc, and Rucka has been a fine addition to that creative cast.
