Wolverine minis and one shots have a tendency to be fairly two dimensional. Wolverine discovers an injustice and decides to rectify it using bloody force. This one wasn't like that. It had a wonderful premise and was so well written that it made me wish Jason Aaron was writing Wolverine: Origins. As with all good kung fu stories this finishes up with a stunning fight with Wolverine against many. Instead of simply relying on his healing factor this time though Wolverine has been whipped into shape by a kung fu master and begins to fight smart. I've been waiting for a smart-fighting Wolverine for as long as I've been reading X-Men and I can only hope that this is marking a new point in how he's written. All in all an incredibly enjoyable Wolverine story which is something that I haven't read outside of his solo book in many months.
