Star Wars Knights Of Old Republic #37

Well, I figured since I jumped on last issue, I should at least finish the short arc.  I can say that while the last issue may or may not have been a good jumping on point, this is definitely a great jumping off point.  The art is pretty bleh; a little too cartoony for me (though I respect the fact that it's not UGLY, just not my cup of tea).  Also, the dialogue a lot of times is a too forced.  Overall they just didn't make it feel quite real enough for me.  However, I have to say that the sequence in the middle where Jarael and Rohlan are hanging, moments from death before Jarael uses the force to save them kind of flipped a switch.  When I read those two pages I though to myself, "hmm, maybe this isn't so bad after all."  In fact, it's really those two pages that bumped the story from a 2 to a 3.  Then it moved back to forgettable kids stuff. 

It's tough, because this is the first Star Wars book I've picked up, and I really want to find a Star Wars title to read, but I just don't have faith after these two issues that this book can put together a story along the lines of those two pages.  I think I'll wait and see on the solicit for the next book (I'm sure it's out there, but I'll check the week it's released) before I drop it; chance of drop is around 90%, though, and there's an even smaller chance that I would recommend this book to anyone else in this state.
