I was in high school when i picked up issue 1 of Robin. While i enjoyed the "Bat" action, what drew me in more than anything was Tim's day-to-day struggles - homework, girls, etc. This guy's a superhero, but he's dealing with the same stuff as me! Weird! And so it went... As I matured and grew as a person, Tim matured and grew as a character.
The pick status I place on this book is deserved in it's own right - both in writing and art. But for me, this is the pick because it's been a hell of a run for Tim and I. I'm now in my early 30s and checking in on Tim and his trials once a month was one of the few constants during the last 15 years. We've been through a lot together, he and I - high school, college, career, deaths, births.... As this chapter closes, I look back on the adventures we've shared fondly and hope that the future holds many, many more.
