I've seen some on the internet call this issue 'filler', and I completely disagree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I can't understand how an issue can be filler when it gives us:
- The knowledge that Rick is apparently still crazy with his crazy phone.
- The possibility of different types or zombies, or zombies with different abilities and awareness.
- The death of a very popular character.
I guess this isn't a review as much as it is my opinion of the 'Walking dead reads too fast/moves to slow/has too much filler' issue.
As you've probably already gathered, I think this was a great issue. We were given all the reveals I pointed out above, as well as a bit of characterization of the characters we were introduced to a few issues ago.
If I could assign one critique, or more of a suggestion really, I'd ask Kirkman to bring back the 'mug shots' that he used to put in the back of the book, with a picture and short description of all the characters. Maybe it's just me, but with all the new characters that were introduced a few issues ago, I find myself occasionally becoming confused as to who is who.
Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
Great point on new zombie info that was teased in this issue.
I'm hoping that is the seed of a lot of interesting story to come.
