Generally I'm not a fan of Tiny Titans when it does one, longer story, as I feel like 5-6 smaller stories highlighting all of the Titans are generally more fun. However, the race storyline worked very well here. From Coach Lobo being absolutely awesome to all the Titans finding new ways to get across the water, this was a really inventive issue, dare I say the best yet? The ending with Raven being characterized so well was great too.
The smaller stories in the back, combined with the larger story up front is what I think really makes this book work. Have a 10-15 page story that can be told in a longer form, and then once kids get bored of that put a few more interesting, different stories to spice things up.
Add some pin-ups and fun games to that, and you've got the perfect recipe for a children's book.
Well done by all.
