Of all the "events" this year, "1985" is easily my favorite. It's not only love-letter to Marvel comics, but also a fairly intense, cinematic roller-coaster ride akin to a Joe Dante film, only instead of Gremlins, you have Galactus. Oh and the art is perfect. Not good. Perfect.
The only problem with this particular issue is the explanation for why all of this was happening. The appeal of the story was that the real world and comics world were completely separate, but having a mutant in the so called "real world" violates that to a degree. Still, the ending is touching and the last panel can't help but remind you of all the reasons you love Marvel Comics in the first place. Excelsior!
