I've always had a fascination with the idea of the vision quest as a defining moment for a superhero, ever since Watchmen and Ozymandias' "origin", so I find what Ellis is doing here interesting, bringing back the idea of a hallucinatory experience that mutates you into a super-being while you trip balls.
I'll also admit to being an Ellis fan (dangerous to admit, but still true). He's put all of himself into this one. Yeah, he might not like superheroes, but he does a hell of a job dissecting what it would take to become one of them.
Ryp's art is amazing as well. His work in Black Summer was great, but you can see some growth since then, faces are more defined and the gore and trippy whatnots are really well rendered.
Go for the wrap cover. No question.
