This issue seemed a lot more solid to me than the first. More seemed to "happen" than in the first one, and I appreciated that, but there still seemed to be a lot of empty advancing of the plot where there could have been humor. Still, to be better than the first issue was all I wanted from this issue, and it delivered. Hopefully it will really "hit its stride" on the next one, which I was very much looking forward to by the end.

(The small backup story was really out of place)

I really enjoyed the humor in this one. I agree with you that this second issue was stronger than the first, but the pacing and construct of the first was also necessary in order to allow this issue to happen. Overall, it was a great read.
