I appreciate the enthusiasm for the importance of events in this issue. I believe that this arc will enhance the reader's Secret Invasion experience, not just supplement it. However, if someone is not reading this story, I think Marvel and Bendis are making SI's main story solid enough where nothing is missed. I'll be posting a review of this a little later, and I plan to give it a 4/4 rating.

I agree.  I loved this issue, and it's definitely an enhancement to the overall SI series.  In a way, it's no biggie because we knew the Skrulls were going to lose (in some way) at the end.  This just sheds some light into the background of that.

Ever since I saw the phrase "Embrace Change" in a Marvel Previews a few months back, my synapses have been firing. I've been thinking "this is a big reveal to the new Marvel status quo"! So here's what's gonna happen ...

There's no way we're gonna get three more issues of Avengers and SHIELD fighting back against the Skrulls, cuz that would just be dull. Eventually. So near the end of this series, the Skrull armada is going to stage a mass landing or transport to Earth. After their people are all on Terran soil, they will blow up their ships and Earth now has a whole new race of citizens to deal with. After sob stories about how the Annihilation Wave destroyed their empire, the governments of the world will decide to integrate them into our societies.

Just wanted to comment about the end of the issue.  First off while this is the last issue in the arc, it isnt the end for the skrulls or their gods.  It was strongly hinted at the begining of the arc that Athena is a skrull and even though thier gods die, Mikaboshi who is thought dead by hercules and the rest steps into their place. To quote, "...your gods die, but your cause endures for now," Mikaboshi states as he absorbs their power and becomes all multiarmed and what not.  Then the last panel is Athena(skrull?) saying everything is going even better than planned.  My thoughts, now the skrulls have a shape shifting god that was originally tied to earth making them even more right in thier claim to earths soil?

@RipperSix I like your idea there.  It's very Alien Nation like and I loved that old show.
