If somebody would’ve told me just six moths ago that I would choose Wolverine as my POW, I would’ve laughed him right in the face.
And here I am, three issues into a great story later...
I picked up the first issue of this arc just because I had three bucks to spend and the cover looked nice. When I opened it up and read I was impressed. It was actually good.
The second issue topped it, a feat not that easy today.
And the third chapter in this futuristic story is just pure comic-book gold! I got everything I ever wanted out of a summer-blockbuster-comic-book-thingy: an interesting premise, some world-class action, character-bits and some WTF moments. I mean, c’mon: dinosaurs eating guys who dress up like Daredevil and the Punisher?? Who doesn’t want to see that?!
Besides that we have a Steve McNiven in top-form. He kills the wasteland setting! His facial expressions are equally superb and he’s got some really nice splash-pages in there as well.
All things considered this is an astonishingly fun ride. Again, I couldn’t imagine in a million years that I’d pick a Wolverine book.
Not my usual, but nice.
Did I mention the dinosaurs??!
