Cyclops team building continues here. The Young X-Men train in the Danger Cave over possible confrontations with the new Brotherhood. I liked how the training sequence was of one of the early New Mutant appearances. It is a nice Easter Egg to fans. The team divides to take down two members of the Brotherhood, and predictably neither attempt goes according to plan. I still find the premise a bit off, and feel that this might not be the real Cyclops. Also, a traitor is seemingly revealed in the teams ranks. This issue was better than the first but I still have some problems. The new Mutants portrayed here seem out of character to me and way to vicious. Also Dust, and to a lesser extent Rockslide, just don't seem to be portrayed like they were in New X-Men, and it really jars the story for me.
The art is about the same as the last issue. The complaints I had for issue 1 are still there. The action was drawn well, but the reasons behind the fighting still seems off. This issue is a slight improvement from before, but still has not fixed some of its bigger problems.
