As someone who is going to school to become a high school teacher, this comic is amazing. I can myself using this to teach the Holocaust to students. Pak integrates Max's story with historical events seamlessly. The story grips you as a reader and makes you feel the frustration and helplessness Max is feeling. The horror of Kristallnacht is shown in full detail. The art in the book is fantastic as well. It's slightly cartooney, but not to the point where it feels wrong for this subject. I believe the art is what keeps this from becoming to depressing, while a realistic style would. This is a great book that shows how comics can be both educational and have a gripping story at the same time.
