You knew what was coming this issue, and Simone wastes no time in starting the festivities. This was an amazing fight. Not only was it two great fighters testing each others limits, but it was also showing the underlying difference of both men. Batman cares about all life, even a group of mercenaries like the Six. Catman on the other hand cares for no life, not even his own. This is the kind of stuff that I read comics for. Plus the whole burrito bit was pretty funny too.
Not only did we get the fight of the year, but we also get to see the rest of the team break Tarantula out. Bane has become a integral part of the book, and I love the way Gail is writing him. I really like his new philosophy on Venom, and I wonder if this is the first time it appears. i also really like the inclusion of Tarantula. Being a fan of Nightwing its great to see what happened to her after she disappeared from his book.
I can't say much about Nicola's art that hasn't been already said. All I got for this issue is that my favorite page is the splash of Catman sucker-punching Batman. The whole fight between those two was wonderfully choreographed.
If this is what we get in the second issue of the book, I can't wait to see what is coming.
