The Mother of Champions has to have one of the weirdest yet coolest powers ever. She gives birth to litters of super-powered, fast aging kids! The seeds for the next arc are planted here, as well as some more world building with Dick. The bulk of this issue follows Nightwing on a day patrol and shows how he saves the day, and the reaction of those he saves. Moments like the kid in the window and the women on the subway are just cool ways of fleshing out the community that Nightwing protects. Also, the relationship with his girlfriend is developed, and an interesting twist is added at the end. The banter with Talia is well written and is a wonderful battle of wills.
The art serves the story well here. It was not the greatest thing ever seen, but it portrayed the action well, and was never muddled or unclear. A good solid art outing. This issue transitions between the last arc and the next, and also gives us some nice character moments at the same time delivering a quality story.
