This was a weird comic to read. The issue is solid and moves the story along, but with the announcement of Dixon leaving DC I fear that we will never see how he wanted this arc to truly end. He was building a long term story that looked like it would continue for some time, but now it will either be continued by a new writer, or ended a lot sooner. All of these factors did not hamper my enjoyment of this issue though.
This issue really shined the spotlight on Batgirl and Remac. Batgirl's "escape" plan fits the character perfectly, and it was a blast to see her with Katana's sword. Remac has his first battle, and I love Salah's reaction to the battle. I can see myself in his place acting the same way. His interactions with Alfred were hilarious as well. I hope this character stays around for a while. Also, it was great to see Nightwing back with the Outsiders, even if it is temporary. The contrast of his leadership style with that of Batman's was a great character study. You can tell those who had worked with him before see him as a better and more relatable leader than Batman.
Lopex's art was pretty good. The shading of people's faces seemed off at times, but his fights were well choreographed. I believe he is the first artist to draw Remac in his final form, and I like the design of the character.
I enjoyed this issue, and will treasure it as the end of Dixon's run on the series comes closer and closer.
Story: 5 - Excellent
