this issue was "classic" The Boys. By that I mean solid Ennis romantic origin story with a New York lovingly rendered as supporting character. Conversely it's the same old thing for this series, paced excrutiatingly slow but giving you just enough to maybe keep you coming back. If something doesn;t happen soon (within the next2 issues) I am out! And I got the run up untill now.

Did you read past the first issue of Herogasm?
I agree that the first issue was way over the top with the sexual acts of superheroes, but that was pretty much establishing setting for the rest of the series. The rest of the issues focus on how The Boys are dealing with Vic The Veep. And while it does meander a bit, I think every sidestep is headed toward a major change in the main storyline.
All that said, this issue really was one of the best in a while. This was one of the most unique and interesting origin stories I can remember reading.
