Way to go Grant and Frank.  This is beautiful storytelling, both visually, and textually from the very first panel to the last.  And, yes, there's some Grant Morrison unexplained weirdness that peeks in during the issue, but it's a refreshing ssaucer of orbet here, instead of a five gallon bucket of ice cream filled with cake batter, sprinkles, and pieces of brownies.

Like Dini's recent Detective run, this issue works on its own.  You don't need to have read issue one to understand the characters or the plot.  It's just a well-told story that happens to come after the last issue.

I've made it a point to tell customers who were turned off by RIP that they are going to kick themselves in the face if they let their prejudice against Grant Morrison keep them from reading this comic.  Like pretty much all of the Reborn titles, thus far, it's Batman storytelling at its finest.  Morrison handles Damien and Grayson with aplomb.  Writing through them, instead of around a plot.

I'm actually going to go outside and take a walk before I get to my next comic, so that I have some time to bask in just how much I enjoyed this issue.

The pacing of the action in this issue is just about he most masterful thing I've ever seen.  This book was pitch perfect from start to finish.
