All good things must come to an end, right? Well this is the end of probably the best Superman story ever told (Granted, I've only read a handful of Superman stories, but I don't think that takes any weight away from the comment). And I just have to say that...it was okay.
Don't get my wrong. The story has been great. And I'm sure that this will work great in the collected volume. But I have to say, as a single issue, it just didn't quite work. I know that this issue had to be about closure, but this should have been about the big battle! Instead we have Superman using a gun. Superman using a gun! And the way Luthor acts at the end, I just think it was an odd direction to go with the character. But hey, the book was pretty!
Overall, I guess it accomplished it's purpose of ending the series and wrapping everything up. I will probably love it when it's all collected together and flows better. Did I mention it was pretty? That last splash of Superman in the Sun was just gorgeous.

Why is superman holding a Dustbuster in that cover? Oh wait "written by Grant Morrison". Nevermind.
