It's good to see a solid book again featuring our favorite paramilitary aggressors, courtesy of Mssrs. Hama, Dixon, and Gage. This is a zero issue, of course, so it just starts to lay down tracks for where IDW wants the line to go -- so in that respect, it was a handsome package of three well-drawn vignettes that bring GI Joe into 2008. Especially well-done was the Duke/Hawk recruitment feature -- the Tom Feister art shows you just how much he lends to Tony Harris's art on "Ex Machina."
You will not forget the original Marvel line here, but I think this is designed to dovetail with what you remember (so long as you forget what Devil's Due made happen in their custodianship of the Hasbro license). More appropriately, this looks to have accents of the coming film adaptation to it.
Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
all 3 of these stories were entertaining but with the $3.99 pricetag I may only be able to get one
