Synopsis
This book follows Johnny confronting Lyja, while Ben runs around squishing Negative Zone creepy crawlies while he is trying to make his way back to the kids. It also shows the Richards children being resourceful as only the offspring of Marvel's resident super genius can be.
The Good
This book contains the best Johnny Storm characterization I have seen since back in the days of the original Marvel Team Up series. He truly comes across as the womanizing, wise cracking, fly by the seat of his pants, heart of gold, flame head that I fondly remember.
The coloring in this book is gorgeous. Every page pops and is a pleasure to look at.
The Bad
No real advancement of the "Invasion" storyline. At the end of the book Ben, Johnny, and the kids, are basically in the same situation as when the issue began.
The Ugly
After dealing with Franklin saying it for 20 years, now I have to deal with the daughter saying "UNCA Ben". She can pilot a Battle Suit, but cant say the word UNCLE! Also the kids gearing up in a battle suit in the first place was a little bit of a stretch for me.
Wrap up
This was an entertaining book for me. If you like the FF, or if u are just a fan of the Human Torch, I highly recommend it. If you are just reading these books for the Secret Invasion storyline, you could probably skip it.
Story (3) - Good (Mainly for the Torch/Lyja stuff)
Art (4) - Very Good (The pencils are good, and the coloring is exceptional.)
