Not hard to write a perfect origin if you're Geoff Johns it seems. I only complain about this book because I'm so anxious to get into Blackest Night. But truth is, I'll enjoy it even more after this arc. I f'n adore the portrayal of Sinestro here. This is how I've always felt about him: yes, he's an asshole, but he means well. Just makes me wanna go back and read those discussions between him and Hal in the Oa prison again.

You think there's any chance that Hal and Sinestro will find themselves fighting together against the new Lantern factions during Blackest Night? I do.

@Face: Well it certainly seems like that could happen. I cant remember where I heard it but the rumor is that the Green Lanterns and Sinestro Corp members will have to team up in order to fight everyone else....So if that does happen it would be interesting to see Sinestro and Jordan team up again. Could make for some good tense moments...

Nice review.  I agree completely.  This arc is Johns at his best: slicing and dicing an origin to squeeze it into the current uber-arc of the series.  Very enjoyable.

I really loved Sinestro's line about how the Green Lanterns always know how to deal with fear, but still struggle with guilt, loss, and anger.  So poignant, so great.  This was an excellent issue.
