I've said in the past that I don't count myself as a Joe Kelly fan (although I don't dislike him, either) because I think it holds more weight when I say that I really, really enjoyed something that he did.  Even early on in this arc, I have to say that this writing is brilliant.  All too often, in favor of big action beats and perilous cliffhangers, a writer often discounts the powers, skills and resources at the disposal of the protagonist.  In this case, I really feel like Kelly sat down and figured out what Peter would do if he had to come up with a plan to infiltrate Avengers Tower, had sufficient prep time and actually remembered that he had friends with access to the sweet fruits of super-science.  It's a very simple, often taken for granted thing, but this kind of sensical and "realistic" plot is a sign of an intelligent, even-handed and patient writer.  Color me impressed, Mr. Kelly.  If this story keeps up at the level of quality it's portrayed thus far, this could wind up being one of the best Spider-Man stories in quite some time.  The Spideyverse is well-placed in the capable hands of Waid and Kelly and I, for one, welcome our new benevolent overlords.

I apologize if this reviews reads awkwardly at all.  My first attempt got eaten by a spastic internet connection, and I tried to re-write from memory.  Boo.

I was going to say something about how the new writers don't wave OMD/BND in our faces like Slott does, but I just noticed on the bottom left corner of the page with Gargan sitting in the chair, talking to the prostitute... well, look for yourselves.

I don't consider that waving it in our faces, but that's a pretty funny easter egg.
