It wasn't this cover that made me know. It was this cover next to last months cover. All this cover showed was that he lost someone close to him and that is wasn't lois. That is all.

@edward ... The cover told me someone "dies". And it just so happens that they went with the most obvious person. So, no, I can't say I didn't know until after. I was pretty certain as early as I saw the solicit. They should have gone with a non-hinting cover.

I suspected the death, and I remember it being predicted in JLA 0. I admit though that at the last moment I thought they were going to pull a fast one and kill the other one. Despite this all I could do is just stare at that last page for almost a full minute.
