I have only read batman comics for a year or so.. So, with that in mind I have a really hard time understanding what is going on. I can see that Morrison has a story that long time readers love, but for me I struggle to follow the story telling.This team of writing/ pencils/ coloring, fail to properly distinguish between past and present, resulting with way to many WTF's... Without the ifanboy fan base to help decipher, I probably would of dropped R.I.P. three issues into the story arc. On a positive note, Morrison's Allstar Superman is in my top ten stories of all time!

I totally agree. It has nothing to do with you being new to Batman either, I've been reading for years (decades ... wow, I'm a dork) & I was just as lost as you. It's deliberate on the part of the writer though, so don't feel too bad.

@WadeWilson, Why do you think the creative team picked this style to tell the past? Black and white does a really nice job to notify the reader of a different time and place.

I honestly think the book isn't meant to be clear, & I think the same thing of RIP in general. It's meant to feel disjointed & confusing, as if you were the one experiencing the fever dream that Bruce was. And, for what it was, it worked because it sure as hell confused me, but it was NO fun to read.

You should try and get the trades for all the Morrison issues, then you'll get a somwhat better idea about this issue.
