Man fans of Superman analogues who go bad must be in heaven lately between this comic and Irredeemable. That being said I definitely feel that this is the stronger of the two books and that is in part due to the conspiracy/political thriller like vibe that the book has. After 6 issues of build up, this is the issue where the shit really starts to hit the fan and boy does it ever. Our lead character has been masterfully developed by this point and you can’t help but feel for him as his life start to crumble apart. The best part of the issue is the realization that in while some ways the trigger has been pulled we are really still building up to the real payoff. Which seems likely will answer the question of "In a world where Superman is the only superhero and he goes bad, what do you do?” I look forward with great anticipation as this creative team presumably sets out to answer that very question in the months to come.
Highly Recommended.
