So, I really have been enjoying these stories in the Avengers titles, flashing back on how the skrulls infiltrated Earth's heroes. I had a lot of fun with this issue.
My jaw dropped at the opening page when it said Skrulls are posing as counterparts and LONG LOST LOVED ONES. Is Mockingbird a skrull or are both she and Clint Barton skrulls? Let the speculation begin
The story picks up after Avengers DisAssembled. A skrull Elektra comes to challenge the real Elektra. Elektra defeats the skrull (I think the only way to kill an Elektra is to stab her through the stomach with a tsai). She then obliterates two skrulls disguised as Wolverine and Daredevil, but is blindsided by another skrull and left in a bloody mess. She is replaced by this skrull, who is the priestess's (Spider Woman's) lover. The skrull Elektra, then gets the Hand to disband from Hydra.
Bendis's writing was great. For me, he has been great on the Avengers from his start point on DisAssembled. Every story has felt special and have had great moments. My only problem is that, right now, it's tough for me to distinguish the difference between New and Mighty Avengers. Both have melded as one book since the Secret Invasion has started.
I enjoyed the art. Koi Pham brought a lot of energy and had great pacing in those fight scenes. My favorite part though was not one of the action scenes, but skrull Elektra's talk with Electro (from New Avengers 1).
This book was highly entertaining and really enjoyable, and had some great cringe (tsai through an eye)and holy crap moments.

I know what you mean in the confusion between MIGHTY and NEW Avengers. We've seen each team's iteration for such a brief period of time, it's hard to feel any sense of stability for either. I felt the same way with the New Avengers when Civil War began. I had just started to feel like the team was becoming cohesive when they were torn apart. Luke Cage's idea of the Avengers coming to bad neighborhoods to inspire positive change instead of always running off to fight Ultron or something was an interesting idea that never got the chance to be explored. I digress, but this was definitely a good issue!
