I just pulled it on the off chance I'd like it and I have to say
it was pretty good. I've been re-reading my Authority trades lately and
I thought this would give me my Wildstorm fix I've been craving lately.
All in all pretty good, they even slyly mentioned the Authority at one point, kudos! The art was really good, a bit too anime but nice and tight (yes I said tight). The story was the usual first issue stuff, laying the groundwork for later issues but you got a good grasp of the characters. There's already a twat superhero who thinks he's the mutt's nuts but in reality is just a 'corporate whore' who's just in it for the plaudits and doesn't really care about the consequences of his actions. At the end of the book you have the super cool retired hero suiting up again as a result of the happenings of this first issue which should make issue 2 a good read.
