I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about this, but I think it's going to start off rather negative.
So Jimmy's powerless, the weird bug chick is losing interest (that happened to me a long time ago), Ray Palmer is bitter because his nutjob wife is still a nutjob and he's living in an empty house, and Donna Troy tries to convince Ray and Kyle that they should be Monitor Monitors?
I was a bit annoyed that we only saw one page of Jason Todd, one page of Piper, but sometimes less is more.
Sourcewall stuff is cool, but I still have no idea what happened there, I'll go read New Gods next and it might make more sense.
As for the Black Adam / Mary Damn Marvel tussle, it was pretty sad...another teenager with too much power freaking out. A little Ritalin should fix that right up.
I liked seeing the original Kirby OMAC model and Kamandi of course.
Unclear what Holly and Harley are up to.
I'm unclear about this whole damn series. I feel empty. I feel broke. Oh, my god, what did I do?
Okay it wasn't all bad, but it wasn't what I hoped it would be...it wasn't 52 by any means.
I liked the art, I don't care for what happened in this issue.
I'm kinda glad it's over. This could have been a monthly series for 12 issues, for 4.99 and it might have worked better. This series really fell apart.
Overall: Countdown did a good job in getting me interested in so many aspects of the multiverse that I was not familiar with and I lapped it up greedily. I have a lot of reading to do, but I will read Gotham by Gaslight and Red Son, and I'll finish the 3rd and 4th Kirby Omnibus, and I'll buy the Kirby OMAC book, and...well, there you go.
Story: 1 - Poor
