How dialed in is J. Hickman these days? Nightly News was outstanding and Pax Romana looks to be even better. Now, Transhuman looks to raise the bar even higher.
Hickman uses a documentary-style format to tell the first part of a four issue run about the history of genetic enhancements and the people behind the corporations. What I really liked about this format is that, since we're only getting 4 issues, we're introduced to the main players fast. This will leave us three full issues to get to the meaty innards.
Hickman shows his comedic chops in this first story as well. The two-page spreads on the monkey and human testings we're worth the cover price alone.
I can't wait for the next installment from one of comics' shining stars.
